Review Bullfight of steers Alicante – 20 June 2024

On the second day of the Hogueras Fair, a notable novice bullfight from the Fuente Ymbro ranch was held.

Kevin Alcolado and Marco Pérez were acclaimed by the audience of the Alicante bullring. A triumph that lays a very solid foundation for the future of both their bullfighting careers.

Alcolado, born in Alicante, managed to win over the ring with his perseverance and passion. Despite his lack of experience, he showed great courage. He fought his first bull with more skill with his right hand than with his left and bravely faced a fourth bull that was reluctant.

Marco Pérez is already a consolidated figure in bullfighting. Considered a child prodigy of the bullfighting world. He dealt with his first bull with surprising ease. Always connecting with the public, the final thrust was a bit low, and the jury denied him the second trophy. He took two laps around the ring acclaimed by the public.

With the fifth bull, a larger specimen, Pérez was exceptional. With the cape, he showed a variety of vibrant passes. With the muleta, he was calmer than with the previous bull. Despite several failures with the sword, the Alicante public wanted him to make a grand exit and the president awarded the trophy following the rules.

The third bull, a young bull from Fuente Ymbro, was a challenge for Javier Cuartero. Despite suffering a tumble, Cuartero achieved a worthy performance. With the last bull, he performed an ascending work that was rewarded with an ear.
